Our client is a pioneering designer, producer and supplier of advanced power conversion equipment has helped power flight for more than 40 years. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer to spearhead their research on obsolete components.

Responsibilities:

+ Provide technical direction in the identification/selection of primary and alternate active/passive components in support of new and existing designs

+ Lead in managing and executing of the component Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP)

+ Support customer SDRLs for diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) reporting

+ Collaborate with Purchasing/Production teams to keep current on availability/end-of-life status for components to allow proper planning across all company disciplines for alternate selection, re-design, life-time-buy, or product end-of-life dispositions

+ Select component alternates to overcome lead time and availability issues

+ Maintain part catalog technical data and work with component manufacturers in support of failure investigations

+ Coordinate, plan, and schedule testing of alternate components for compliance and reliability analysis

+ Generate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in support of obsolescence efforts

+ Review new technologies and quality trends and make recommendations for improved reliability

Qualifications:

+ Bachelors in Electrical Engineering

+ 2+ years of component engineering experience
