We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Safety Technician to join our innovative team at Aptiv. As a key member of our Advanced Safety and User Experience organization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing cutting-edge safety systems for the automotive industry.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of advanced safety systems for vehicle builds
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are properly provided and implemented
  • Work closely with Vehicle Systems Engineers to ensure successful project execution
  • Read and interpret engineering vehicle mechanization drawings
  • Disassemble and assemble vehicle components, including computers, networking, and electronic instrumentation
  • Build vehicle harnesses to specifications
  • Identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement and implement initiatives
  • Escalate execution issues as needed
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the automotive industry
  • 1+ years of experience with custom vehicle modifications
  • Experience working on vehicles in a service dealership or repair facility
  • Skilled in the use of common mechanical and electrical tools
  • Experience with hand soldering equipment
  • Knowledge of basic DC electrical concepts
  • Ability to comprehend schematics and vehicle service information
  • Current driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • Knowledge of driver assistance systems and active or passive safety systems
  • Experience with hardware and software interfaces and communication protocols
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, Flexray, and Ethernet
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
