**Description**

**Job Summary:**

This role requires curiosity, attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate and communicate with all levels of technologists and the business. Our infrastructure leverages a wide range of technologies and requires a skilled incumbent with the desire to learn and teach. This position is team-oriented with a strong focus on Delivery & Stability and closely collaborates with all business units to iterate on improving its success metrics.

**Essential Duties/Responsibilities:**

* Play a large role in helping Baylor Genetics transition from a genetics company to a technology company.

* Manages a team of Support Engineers to make sure adequately supported during business and non-business hours.

* Perform as frontline support addressing technical issues relative to software implementation, function, and upgrade.

* Review, analyze, and evaluate user needs to create systems solutions that support overall business strategies.

* Work with lab personnel to update current applications to meet their operational needs.

* Document current system process and workflows.

* Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional development and DevOps teams.

**Additional Duties may include:**

* Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies.

* Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users.

* Meet with senior leadership to gather requirements for high visibility projects.

* Conduct cost/benefit analysis.

**Skill Preferences:**

* Strong working knowledge of the Medical Industry, preferably on the genetic testing.

* Experience collaborating closely with development and infrastructure teams.

* Experience working in highly virtualized public and private cloud environments.

* Recognize the importance of and be able to generate excellent documentation and diagrams.

* Can balance idealism and pragmatism in a fast-paced work environment.

* Possess self-management skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

* Pay attention to detail and constantly drive to deliver value.

* Enjoy being part of a highly collaborative team where everyone works together to improve our organization and our own skill set.

* Desire to learn new technologies and practices that can drive an organization into the future.

Its not expected that you have expertise in all these areas. Were looking for professional analyst, who can quickly learn and adapt as our systems and situation changes, rather than a rigid skillset.
