JOB LOCATION:
Hamilton County Justice Center; Hamilton County Courthouse
HOURS:
Mon - Fri, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm; Sat. (rotational, every 14 weeks)

$21.37 per hour

JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Courtroom Services Clerk, you will provide exceptional customer service to the public and attorneys, process paperwork, and verify information to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent service. You will respond to customer inquiries, retrieve information, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Clerical duties include keeping accurate records of court actions, preparing Judge's dockets, reviewing and analyzing judicial entries, and working with courtroom staff to efficiently process cases.

50%: CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Provide exceptional customer service to the public and attorneys in the courtroom.
- Process paperwork for service provided.
- Verify information provided and ensure timely, accurate and consistent service to the customer.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Respond to customer inquiries: determine the nature of requests, retrieve information from system or hard-copy files, and provide assistance directly or by referring the customer to the appropriate party.
- Keep an accurate record of the actions in court each day.
- Prepare the Judge's dockets.
- Review and analyze the information presented in judicial entries, complaints and affidavits.
- Work closely with courtroom staff and judges to accurately and efficiently process cases during court proceedings.
- Sort and file case file jackets and paperwork.
PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Basic mathematics for calculating fines and fees.
- Court processes and procedures.

- High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of professional experience in an office environment or customer service; one (1) year of experience in a courtroom or governmental position; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a sedentary job and the employee will sit 75% of their workday. The employee is expected to use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
