OVERVIEW: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in the field of accounting and finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with numbers.

REPORTS TO: Controller

WORK HOURS: Part-time; approximately 20 hours per week or as needed during normal office hours (8:00AM-5:00PM Monday - Friday)

RATE: $15.00/hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by processing invoices, reconciling payments, and communicating with vendors and customers.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accounting software.
  • Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management review.
  • Help with budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering relevant data and providing support in the preparation of financial projections.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the accounting team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Reliable and responsible with a strong work ethic.
