Job Summary:

The Corporate Development Manager will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of this chemical business. This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities through mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and other corporate initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the chemical industry, financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify potential growth opportunities.
  • Develop and present business cases for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives to senior management.
  • Evaluate industry trends and market dynamics to support long-term strategic planning.

Deal Sourcing and Execution:

  • Identify and assess potential targets for acquisition, partnership, or investment.
  • Lead due diligence processes, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Negotiate terms and structures of transactions in collaboration with legal, financial, and operational teams.
  • Oversee the integration of acquired businesses to ensure seamless transition and realization of synergies.

Financial Modeling and Valuation:

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support valuation and decision-making processes.
  • Analyze financial statements, forecasts, and operational metrics to assess the financial impact of potential deals.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive leadership and board meetings.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including potential partners, investors, and advisors.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other networking events.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the corporate development team and with other departments.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, operations, and marketing, to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of ongoing initiatives and provide regular updates to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, preferably within the chemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of the chemical industry, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, and key players.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing M&A transactions and other strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and valuation skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
