High Level Mission Statement

The Materials Quote Associate coordinates aspects of the quoting process with emphasis on constant improvement in quote quality, turnaround time, and overall customer responsiveness.

High Level Statement of the Role

The Materials Quote Associate is responsible for coordinating aspects of the quoting process with emphasis on constant improvement in quote quality, turnaround time, and overall customer responsiveness. They work in conjunction with and as a backup to Strategic Sourcing to negotiate terms, prices, and conditions for the purchase of product as needed. They also work in conjunction with Suppliers, Production Planning, Program Management and other functions as necessary.

High Level Roles & Responsibilities

  • Receive and review all RFQ's for additional analysis of completeness
  • Schedule and conduct RFQ quote kickoff meetings
  • Ensure quoted material costs align with customer expectations
  • Drive the material quoting process (for new and current business) to ensure that our supply chain strategies are well integrated into the quoting process and our costed BoMs are competitive
  • Follow through on material quote activities to ensure quote is completed on-time and accurate
  • Prepare cost sheets, costed BOM and Excess Report to be included in final quote documents
  • Conduct cost analysis of quote vs. actual costs
  • Deliver quote to Global Quote Center or Requestor
  • Provide feedback to vendors for future improvements in quotes
  • Drive continuous improvement through the supply chain to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership in support of the KETA business plan
  • Support the Materials Council to implement key supply chain strategies
  • Work in close cooperation with the buyers to implement quoted material cost and reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and foster long term mutually beneficial relationships with preferred suppliers.
  • Collect and load data into Quote Win and other databases
  • Ability to read/interpret customer drawings, BOMs and associated documentation
  • Suggest improvements to procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure 5S initiatives are being followed
  • Assist in department Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Adheres to all quality and safety guidelines
  • Complete work within assigned time limits
  • Additional duties as assigned
