About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Specialist to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a Sterile Processing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of sterility and quality in our surgical instruments and equipment. Key Responsibilities: • Restock and replenish surgical instrumentation in the Operating Room (OR) and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) in compliance with departmental policies and procedures. • Inspect, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and standardized protocols. • Prepare and assemble surgical instrument trays and packets according to standardized content lists and manufacturer's guidelines. • Operate and monitor sterilizers, ensuring proper functioning and maintaining accurate records of sterilization cycles. • Collaborate with the SPD team to maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety standards. Requirements: To qualify for this role, you must have: • Certification in Sterile/Central Processing • A high school degree or equivalent • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing, preferably in a hospital setting • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and power surgical instruments • Excellent customer service and communication skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, and families • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Benefits: Boston Children's Hospital offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including flexible scheduling, affordable health insurance, child care subsidies, and a generous time off policy.
