PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Accountant is primarily responsible for verifying, allocating and posting details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts, and interpreting financial data for reports given to internal and external individuals. The Accountant must work within scheduled deadlines for monthly activities by managing workload appropriately. Recommending process improvement is a necessary function as we grow and the Accountant will be required to participate in this activity. Financial information is confidential and it must not be revealed to anyone who does not have the right to know, therefore the accountant must be aware of their audience at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
  • Compiles and submits monthly reporting to internal clients
  • Assists with month end closing account reconciliations and prepares appropriate journal entries
  • Creates statistical financial data spreadsheets
  • Creates Financial Analysis report as requested
  • Makes bank deposits, post office visits and completes local errands as necessary
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Crosstrain others to complete tasks that have been assigned to them.
  • Other duties as assigned
KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service in any/all situation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications including Word, Excel, Google Sheet, and Google Docs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast paced environment
  • Ethical conduct at all times.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel (required)
  • Attention to detail and exceptional time management skills
  • Familiarity with Accounting software
