Division Assistant Controller – fully in office
Direct Hire; up to 100K + bonus
West Houston
Duties:
Direct and supervise Accounting to include Accounts Payable, Subcontractor Payables, Payroll, Housing Receivables, job cost, and general ledger accounting
Ensure adherence with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies and procedures
Assist Controller in preparing annual Departmental Operating Budgets, Housing Budget, Capital Asset Budget, Land Development Budget, and Cash Flow Budget
Assist Controller in preparing financial forecasts of projected revenue and profit in conjunction with financial analysis of budget vs. actual operating results
Assist Controller in meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements of internal and external users
Assist Controller in directing and overseeing preparation of Personal Property, Sales and Use, and Real Estate Tax returns
Assist Controller in designing, implementing, and supporting procedures ensuring compliance
Work with and provide financial information to internal and external auditors; respond to audit reports
Approve expenditures and invoices
Work with department managers to ensure consistent application of GL accounting/cost coding
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years Strong knowledge of GAAP Strong knowledge of cash flows, financial reports, and annual reports
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to organize and manage long-term projects
Team player, positive, collaborative, dedicated, and committed to efficiency and accuracy
