Lead Server

Serves meals to patrons in dining establishments.

Main Duties:

Greet guests, presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and beverage menu items and daily specials.

Working knowledge of spirits, beer and wines.

Writes order on check and enters ordered items in POS system.

Serves courses from kitchen and bar.

Prepare coffee tea and specialty coffee to order.

Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.

Presents check and accepts payment and reconcile receipts.

Clears and resets counters and/or tables at conclusion of each course, arrange table setting.

Runs food from kitchen for outlet as directed by Chef or Manager.

Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including proper handling of alcohol and sanitation procedures.

Ensure responsible service of alcohol and comply with age verification requirements.

Maintain a clean work and organized environment and ensure all health and safety regulations are followed.

Oversee the opening, side and closing duties of dining areas and ensure tables are properly set.

Train new waitstaff and ensure they follow restaurant policies.

Assist manager in inventory counts and orders supplies as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 2 years serving experience in a full-service restaurant.

The ability to multitask while providing exceptional guest service.

Ability to effectively communicate and provide direction to restaurant employees.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have or be able to obtain within the introductory period, the following: TAPS card and Food Handlers Card.
