Full job description Position – Commission Based Consignment Sales Associate Location: Remote – with scheduled visits to our location in Louisville, KY Reports to the Executive Director (until In House Program Manager is hired) Position Type: Commission-Based Position Summary: The Consignment Sales Representative will be responsible for selling Dress for Success Louisville's wares both online and in stores. This role focuses on maximizing sales through consignment channels, maintaining strong relationships with consignment partners, and ensuring an excellent customer experience. The position is commission-based, with earnings tied directly to sales performance. Key Responsibilities Sales and Revenue Generation: Drive sales of Dress for Success Louisville's consigned wares through various online platforms and physical stores. Identify and pursue new consignment opportunities to expand the organization's sales reach. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. Potential to investigate pop-up store locations. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with consignment partners, ensuring mutual benefit and satisfaction. Act as the primary point of contact for consignment partners, addressing any issues or concerns promptly. Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with consignment partners to maximize profitability. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of consigned items, ensuring adequate stock to meet demand. Coordinate with the Boutique/Volunteer Coordinator to manage the flow of goods to consignment partners. Ensure all items are accurately listed and described on online platforms and in stores. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns for consigned items. Utilize social media and other marketing channels to increase visibility and drive sales. Organize and participate in events, pop-up shops, and other sales activities to promote consigned wares. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to buyers, ensuring a positive purchasing experience. Handle customer inquiries and issues related to consigned items in a professional and timely manner. Collect and respond to customer feedback to improve sales and service quality. Reporting and Analysis: Track and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to the Executive Director. Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Make data-driven recommendations to enhance sales strategies and outcomes. Qualifications Ability to come into our location to meet with In-House Program Manager and Boutique Coordinator on a scheduled basis to receive new items and provide status reports. Proven experience in sales, preferably in a consignment or retail environment. Strong understanding of online sales platforms (e.g., eBay, Poshmark, Thread Up) and consignment processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities. Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with inventory management systems. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in fashion or apparel sales. Established network within the consignment and retail industry. Experience with social media marketing and online promotions. Compensation This position is commission-based, with earnings tied directly to sales performance. Specific commission rates and structure will be discussed during the hiring process.
