Overall Job Function:

The Controller will support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the accounting team by maintaining the operations, processes, and controls related to the organization's chart of accounts, general ledger, and financial statements. They will also assist with other FCS administrative processes and functions to help maintain an effective office environment, striving to meet the demands of employees and customers in a professional and timely manner. This individual will support all divisions within the company.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist the CFO in consolidating and analyzing financial data and budgets, considering the company's goals.

Conduct profit analysis by division, utilizing analytics of incoming ingredient pricing, transportation, production, and labor costs.

Analyze the business pricing structure using a cost-based analysis performed through various accounting projects and tasks, including maintaining up-to-date financial records, preparing reports and reconciliations, inventory management, and profit/loss analysis. Provide recommendations to the CFO and Senior Leadership.

Manage inventory by analyzing the past needs of each division to project future inventory requirements.

Consult with management to offer alternative recommendations to improve financial performance.

Support other divisions with workloads during high-demand periods or busy seasons.

Manage and assist with the processing of monthly and year-end reports, reconciliations, and financial statements.

Establish and manage control practices to ensure proper use and protection of company resources.

Manage the accounting of capital assets and budgets.

Assist customers with relevant questions during peak business times.

Maintain the office and work area in a neat and professional manner.

Keep accurate records, both electronic and paper-based.

Assist in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration or related field experience.

Prefer a minimum of 2 years' experience in business / accounting experience.

Work Requirements:

This position is based in a fast-paced office setting. Equipment used includes a computer, phone, fax machine, copier, and other standard office equipment. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Occasionally, the position will require working outside, with exposure to the elements, loud noise, and agricultural equipment.

While performing job functions, the employee will frequently be required to talk and hear. The employee will also spend intervals moving and sitting, with occasional need to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop, or kneel. The employee should be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and 15 pounds frequently. The physical demands of this job are low.
