The
Senior Accountant
is
responsible
for
financial transactions related to
the
organization’s
monthly accounting operations. The position will be part of a team that maintains the general ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting transactions. Additional responsibilities include assistance with the external audits, tax preparation, and
understand and implement leases in accordance with the new Lease Standard ARC 842.
This position must integrate company values into daily practice.
Essential Functions:
Participate
in the
monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to include preparation
and recording
of journal entries and
various assigned
balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy of account coding and the inclusion of adequate supporting documentation.
Responsible for
preparation of
internal and external reporting to lenders, investors, and management.
Assists with the preparation of
external financial statements and related footnotes, in accordance with GAAP.
Provide support in the tax preparation process.
Provide support in preparation of budgets.
Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.
Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
Four (4) years' experience in the accounting and finance sector required.
Two (2) year public accounting experience preferred.
Two (2) year's healthcare experience preferred.
Working knowledge of current accounting principles, processes, documentation requirements, related laws, and best practices.
Understand and implement leases in accordance with the new Lease Standard ARC 842.
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Documentation
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
