summary POSITION SUMMARY The Production Manager plans, organizes and controls production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Production Manager's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Manage the activities of the production area to ensure operations run seamlessly. Coordinate production schedules for each job; review and adjust the schedule when needed. Ensure Maintenance Mechanics make sound decisions concerning equipment use, maintenance, modification, repair, and procurement of services. Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines. Set production goals and communicate them to production staff and other impacted staff in quality, planning, warehouse, compounding, and other key departments. Ensure product quality standards are met. Determine and implement improvements to the production process. Prepare and maintain production reports. Estimate production costs, manage production budgets, and implement cost control programs. Ensure production work areas are clean and organized. Communicate and collaborate across departments to ensure production schedules and metrics are met; regularly report on production goals and objectives. Train staff on each aspect of the production process. Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement. Provide supervision and leadership for production personnel and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Develop and implement production area SOPs to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Ensure staff compliance with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMP guidelines and FDA regulations related to the production area. Recommend and Source New Equipment to meet Production needs. Manage Facility Maintenance Crew. Other duties as assigned. required-skills: QUALIFICATIONS High school graduate (or equivalent) required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing operations; experience in the production of OTC drug products and cosmetics-liquids preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity. Experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques. Knowledge of raw materials, machines and tools and engineering and technology principles and practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency especially with ERP software. Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-to-one basis as well as a group. Working knowledge of cGMP, Production SOPs, OSHA, EPA and FDA requirements. Strong interpersonal and organization skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and management. Ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot production equipment and make minor adjustments as needed.
