With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia, and Mexico, we service our customers both nationwide and internationally by designing and manufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.Scope and Responsibilities: The Mechanical Engineer organizes, supervises and coordinates all Engineering activities to supply high-quality, cost-competitive, marketable product designs that meet the marketing and sales objectives of the company.Duties include, but are not limited to:Work as part of a team to design and develop new air conditioning and heat pump products.Select and supervise the selection of components to meet product design objectives and maximize component standardization.Actively participate in the new product development process.Respond in accordance to customer complaints, Preventative Action Requests, and Product Maintenance Projects in correcting or improving the finished products, addressing the issues raised.Review the overall progress of each project and provide the department head with detailed monthly progress reports, ensuring on-time project completion.Identify and implement cost reduction ideas and programs to meet departmental cost reduction goals.Draft and supervise the drafting of detailed Bills of Materials for new products.Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure the manufacturability of new products.Prepare and make submittals to agencies for UL Safety Listings (UL/ETL) and Capacity and Efficiency Ratings (AHRI).Draft new product specifications and installation instructions.Redesign existing products to comply with changing Federal, State, and regional requirements.Provide technical support to the Technical Service Department as needed.Develop process specifications in collaboration with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering.Ensure proper product labeling for safety warnings in compliance with ANSI standards.Define and oversee the testing of all equipment in compliance with UL & AHRI standards.Review all test data for compliance and accuracy, ensuring good statistical calculations in accordance with AHRI/DOE requirements.Assist Manufacturing with process improvements and recommendations to ensure continued quality improvements and manufacturing ease.Experience and SkillsThe successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred, plus 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment; or a combination of education and experience in mechanical engineering will be considered.Positive attitude with hunger to learnAbility to organize work to meet the departmental goals and objectivesKnowledge of air conditioning and heat pump fundamentalsHighly developed interpersonal skills.
