Position Summary:

As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our customer facing digital products and platforms here at Toyota. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, ensuring that products meet the needs of our customers while aligning with our company's technical landscape and strategic goals. Your technical expertise will be essential in communicating effectively with engineering teams, translating customer requirements into technical specifications, and making informed decisions to drive product innovation and growth. You will understand, embrace, and deliver on the strategic vision of the Toyota Digital Product portfolio.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development methodologies, web technologies, data integration, and cloud infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams towards common goals and deliver high-quality products on time and within budget
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and delivering exceptional user experiences
Essential Position Duties:
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to product development teams
  • Manage the Digital Product portfolio roadmap in collaboration with Product Managers
  • Ensure informed technical decisions are made with full context and understanding of the desired wholistic customer experience
  • Partner closely with IT, Engineering, and development partners to ensure product architectural runway is on track to achieve business goals
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Digital Product Portfolio value streams and the technologies that enable them
  • Lead complex software development projects and initiatives aligned with company strategic objectives
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation in product development
  • Represent the Digital Products group in communication and reporting to program and executive leadership
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective decisions on feature definition, value, and priority
  • Accountable for specific projects that enhance the overall customer experience
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to integrate digital platforms with other digital and/or dealer tools/platforms
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • Additional duties as assigned
Education Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Masters or other advanced degree is a plus
  • Proven experience of 10+ years as a Technical Product Manager, Solution Architect, or similar role in a technology-driven organization
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with IoT product development is a plus
