Job Description THE SALVATION ARMY NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS DIVISION City Mission POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Pathway of Hope Regional Coordinator LOCATION/DEPT: DHQ REPORTS TO TITLE): Corps Officer FLSA CATEGORY: Exempt STATUS TYPE: RFT OUTCOMES The Regional Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and management of overall casework services offered to families through the Pathway of Hope program at identified Corps or social services sites. The Regional Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Assistant Divisional Social Services Director, the Director of Emergency Assistance Case Management, and the City Missions Regional Social Services Managers to support the implementation of the program's objectives including training of Corps staff involved in Pathway of Hope, training of corps officers new to the Metropolitan Division, collection of data, and reporting on outcomes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide supervision to support the direct service, community resource development, and casework consultation to ensure the full implementation of the Pathway of Hope model within the assigned Corps cluster. Supervision of POH Corps/Corps Clusters Provide ongoing supervision and administrative oversight for up to all POH Corps in the implementation of Pathway of Hope. Provide direct case consultation and technical assistance to caseworkers and interns, as requested. Plan, coordinate and facilitate monthly caseworker meetings. Meet with Corps staff and officers monthly to offer support and information regarding community linkages, programmatic requirements including intake processes, intervention strategies and collection of data needed to meet program reporting requirements. Assist in interviewing and training of new employees directly involved in Pathway of Hope. Provide casework orientation and training for new caseworkers or interns, as requested. Attend inter-agency meetings and participate in local networks, as appropriate with local staff. Assist with special events and seasonal programs, as requested. Attend and present Pathway of Hope updates to designated Regional Cluster Meetings. Program Implementation Ensure quality of POH planning and implementation by participation with POH planning and program development at sites. Ensure consistent communication by participating in weekly, biweekly, or monthly Team Meetings with the Director of Emergency Assistance Case Management, City Missions Regional Social Services Managers, Corps case workers, officers and Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director. Ensure consistent internal communication and understanding of program developments by sharing electronic and hard copies of updated information with Divisional staff and Corps. Additionally, prepare bi-monthly reports on the POH progress and status for POH Project Manager and Division Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director. Ensure quality of local data and reporting of information that will support national and territorial POH program outcomes. Ensure relevance and consistency of POH by collaborating with the Director of Emergency Assistance Case Management, City Missions Regional Social Services Managers, and Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director with ongoing development of policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and outcome-based measures related to the POH. Ensure relevance of POH approach to funders by keeping current on program funding resources, both public and private, and assist Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director to support local leadership in securing additional localized funding. Assist scaling of POH and learning agenda by collaborating with the Director of Emergency Assistance Case Management, City Missions Regional Social Services Managers, the Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director and other organizations for the purposes of further development of the POH model and support kindred projects, as requested and/or assigned. Pathway of Hope Program Evaluation and Outcomes Measurements Ensure the accuracy of data entry into the database. Oversee annual POH evaluations/outcomes measurement for cluster(s) of Corps and complete summary/review report to POH Project Manager and Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director. Report any POH implementation challenges and work with the City Missions Regional Social Services Managers, Director of Emergency Assistance Case Management, and Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director to develop an action plan to address program development needs. Maintain a POH database which consolidates program data across cluster(s) of Corps and updating information as needed. Collaborate with the Assistant Divisional Social Services Director, the Director of Emergency Assistance Case Management, Director of City Missions, the City Missions Regional Social Services Managers, and assist with the development of a program specific POH implementation plan as requested and/or assigned. Serve on the committees related to case management, emergency assistance and building sufficiency, as requested, or appointed. Education and Training Conduct training sessions that support the initial implementation phase and ongoing training requirements for the POH. Plan, conduct and/or participate in POH workshops and other training events at the territorial, divisional or local level, as requested and/or assigned. Maintain a POH trained personnel database, updating all information quarterly following command POH evaluation reviews of each unit. Assume responsibility to plan, conduct and/or participate in other social service workshops and other staff training events at the territorial, divisional or local level, as requested and/or assigned. Provide guidance and promote the spiritual dimension of Salvation Army social services programs, emphasizing the importance of Christian influence and evangelism in all Salvation Army ministries, including delivery of social services in contemporary settings. Provide supervision for social work student interns, as requested and/or assigned. Program evaluation and certification Complete quarterly random record reviews and annual reviews of compliance with standards in order to assure for program evaluation/certification requirements. Complete the Caseworker Certification Program within your first 120 days. Other Duties As assigned. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director; Liaison to the Pathway of Hope Project Manager. Encourage, motivate and support staff and Corps/Corps Clusters throughout the local area for the purposes of serving those targeted individuals and families through POH and its designed outcomes. In contacts related to this position's duties this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved... Timeliness and accuracy of accomplishing assigned goals will be reviewed... An evaluation of how effectively service is provided... EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Master's degree in human service area: prefer MSW from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two years of experience in the supervision of comparable social service programs that offer multi-faceted casework interventions designed to address the needs of families utilizing a strengths-based approach. Prefer LSW, LCSW, LCP, or LCPC. Valid Driver's license/MVR clearance COMPETENCIES Willing to promote the mission of the Salvation Army through social service programming. Ability to collaborate on complex social issues within families and communities. Demonstrated capacity to teach adults. Ability to be creative, original, intuitive, and perceptive. Ability to think logically and critically. Ability to envision a project from beginning to end. Ability to solve complex problems, make appropriate judgments and decisions. Knowledge of community outreach, organization, and community capacity development. Must have an interest and ability to work with people and clients of diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner. Familiarity with Salvation Army policies and procedures. Excellent oral and written communication skills. POSITION LIMITATIONS This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved. This individual will keep the Divisional Social Services Director and Assistant Social Services Director informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility. This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures and accurately representing the teachings and mission of The Salvation Army in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is required to do moderate physical work and must be able to lift 25 lbs. occasionally. In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment and PC. The work environment for this position includes an office environment with a low noise level. Must be able to travel throughout the Division including overnight and weekends. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
