Description:
**BUILD, Inc.** (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is presently seeking a committed, self-motivated, and innovative individual to join our team. BUILD is a nationally respected gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organization based on Chicago’s West Side. Since 1969, BUILD has worked to save lives and mentor young people who live in the city’s most challenged neighborhoods. We set the bar high and lead by example, putting our values of respect, collaboration, and open communication into everything we do. When you work at BUILD you make an important difference to the thousands of youth and families we serve.

The College & Career Pathways Coordinator (CCPC) exposes and connects youth to college and career pathways, ultimately resulting in enrollment into college, trade school, or a workforce program and increased youth employability and graduation and program completion rates. The CCPC equips youth with skills that prepare them for academic, professional, and personal achievement. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for implementing four critical components of successful case management: intake, needs assessment, service planning and monitoring and evaluation through relationship and trust building, advocacy, evidence-based best practices, and youth empowerment. The College & Career Coordinator reports directly to the College & Career Manager.

- Aid youth in securing financial assistance through grants, scholarships, internships, assistantships, etc.
- Monitor youth academic progress, assist with SAP appeals if necessary, and gather and provide educational resources such as tutoring, placement exams, and standardized testing preparation.
- Keep up with industry best practices to ensure youth are prepared and meet program enrollment requirements and deadlines.
- Equip youth with practical resume writing, job searching, interviewing, and networking skills.
- Facilitate workshops designed to enhance youth soft and hard skills in professionalism, time management, communication etiquette, growth mindset, and organizational skills.
