What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Review and evaluate Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act permits and pollution reports - Analyze ambient air monitoring and water quality data and literature - Identify potential improvements in facilities' permits and prepare comments advocating for those improvements - Support proposed permit improvements and build public support for those improvements - Analyze data regarding permit violations and support litigation and advocacy to remedy those violations - Explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

What is Required (Qualifications): - Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or related field preferred - Minimum of 7 years of experience as an environmental engineer responsible for compliance with federal and state air and water regulations - Knowledge of permits, reports, and data related to a variety of industries, including steel - Ability to build productive relationships with experts, government officials, and industry - Excellent communication, time management, organizational, and analytical skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Experience in the steel, chemical, or petroleum refinery industries - Ability to create models or maps of pollutant transport
