The Financial Accountant position is responsible for leading the technical aspects of the financial accounting function of the company, including financial reporting, while identifying and assisting in the implementation of cost saving opportunities throughout the organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Fundamental to this position is the commitment and assurance that the company is in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), all Federal, State and corporate reporting requirements and all KNF Group requirements. Where issues are identified, ensure that all management staff are fully apprised and provided solutions in order to reconcile such concerns. On a routine basis this position either performs the following set of activities:

Develops reports related to the monthly financial statement closing process, ensuring that all relevant transactions are accomplished in both an accurate and timely manner. Analyzes monthly activity and prepares account reconciliations for review by the Director of Finance. Analyzes requirements for capital expenditures, maintaining fixed asset inventory and ensures that all new equipment/asset purchases are properly depreciated, tracked and tagged. Ensures compliance with sales and use tax reporting.

Reviews continuously and improves internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and Company guidelines. Prepares all requisite components in preparation of the annual budget process and then through the year prepares monthly variance reports for review by management with analysis and recommendations (specifically to the senior management team). Actively participates in the year-end and tax preparation process from both a planning and support role. Ensures the outside/independent auditor’s work is efficiently organized and presented such that the cost of the audit is minimized. Contributes to overall management of foreign currency treasury function while ensuring all foreign transactions are accurately converted to US$. Leads as SAP Key User level and work closely with the SAP Program Team and general IT function to ensure all aspects of the financial department and data management are effectively set-up and operating. Coordinates all monthly reporting to KNF’s corporate office to ensure a timely response to inquiries. Evaluates and develops procedures and measures to improve overall financial transparency. Promotes awareness of company policies and cultural programs (LEITBILD and The KNF Way), ensuring that all staff is aware and responsive to these programs. Occasional travel may be required to international locations with other travel limited to local or regional attendance at business or industry meetings. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or finance from an accredited four-year college, CPA highly preferred. Two (2) to Four (4) years of accounting experience with a strong background in management accounting, fixed asset accounting, budgeting and reporting/audit preparation. Cost accounting a plus. Proficient in knowledge and use of ERP systems especially SAP, as well as Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent oral and written communications skills, attention to detail and ability to interact effectively with management and prioritize diverse projects for multiple disciplines. Superior team-building skills and a demonstrated track record of working with peers in operational roles.
