The Leather Finishing Specialist will apply knowledge of leather chemistry and processing to incorporate, customize and launch finishes containing Activated Silk at tanneries.Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with R&D to develop, optimize and roll out leather finishes.Act as liaison for technicians from other regions and align on test methods and techniques across sites.Support the documentation of detailed technical results and key takeaways for internal teams and tanneries.Effectively communicate internally and externally with team members, management, and tannery partners within the confines of confidentialityReport and escalate issues to management as neededActively participates in tannery experiments - summarizes tannery visits and test resultsReal-time assessment of trial results to recommend changes or opportunities to optimize in the tannery environment (i.e., formula variations, Activated Silk concentrations, etc.)Qualifications:Should have 4-year degree in Chemistry or relevant field2+ years work experience in Leather TechnologyMust be able to work independently as well as in a team settingWilling to travel and spend up to 50% of time working in the assigned tanneries and Evolved by Nature facilities.Skills & Abilities:Able to quickly learn new concepts, techniques, and practicesExcellent oral and written communication skillsDetail orientedStrong aptitude for working with scientific instrumentation and mechanicsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to reprioritize quickly in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google suiteEvolved By Nature is a chemical technology company creating new molecules for a more sustainable future.
