Reporting to the Finance Director, this position plays an integral part on the team by ensuring collection of payments is received in a timely manner. The AR Specialist supports the organization optimizing the Company’s cash flow, minimizing bad debt, and supporting overall financial stability. Primary Responsibilities: - Collections: o Contact customers regarding overdue accounts o Follow up on payment commitments - Daily Payment Application: o Process electronic, ACH, credit card payments o Review payments against remittance details o Post payments to customer accounts - Reporting & Documentation: o Prepare AR Aging report on a regular basis o Notate collection efforts and outcomes for management review - Customer Account Maintenance, Reconciliation & Resolution: o Investigate discrepancies between invoices and payments o Assist Sales team in resolving customer disputes regarding invoices o Coordinate with internal departments and management to resolve issues on customer accounts o Update customer account information as needed to maintain accuracy of account details - Credit Assessment & Policy Adherence: o Comply w/ Company policies when evaluating creditworthiness of new and existing customers o Set credit limits for customers based on risk assessment - Administrative Assistance: o Assist with month-end bank reconciliation o Notify Director of Finance monthly of unreconciled credits and assist with resolution process o Assist internal departments and management with ad-hoc administrative requests Job Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. - 5 years of related experience required, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution industry. - Quickbooks Online, Sage 50, and Sage 100 platforms experience preferred. - Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
