The Medical Staff Coordinator is a professional administrative assistant who coordinates medical staff activities, performs secretarial and delegated executive job duties and acts as a liaison between the Medical Staff and Administration with parameters established by the President/Chief Executive Officer. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the management of the medical staff support function for the Medical Staff as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws. Coordinates receipt of credentialing privileging applications following processing and primary source verification by the Credentialing Verification Office (CVO); performs review and analysis, identification and follow up of “red flag” items; prepares files for review and recommendation by the medical staff. Coordinates credentialing end-of-committee process to ensure notification of providers, departments and CVO; database updates; breakdown, completion and scanning of files as appropriate. Maintains current confidential credential files on all medical staff and allied health members. Maintains current Medical Staff roster and Medical Staff Committee membership roster. Schedules, coordinates, prepares agenda, takes minutes, provides follow up for Medical Staff Meetings. Sends notification when medical staff dues are due and collects medical staff dues. Maintains medical staff meeting and medical staff committee meeting attendance records for medical staff members. Maintains a current master copy of and is knowledgeable of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations. Coordinates and schedules orientation for new medical staff members. Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters. Provides other administrative support services and duties as may be requested.
