The CMM Operator/Programmer is responsible for maintenance and execution of the company’s product inspection plans. This includes the routine inspection of daily ‘in-process’ parts and verification of features for setup/initial production pieces. The inspector will use a combination of available programmable CMMs, manual CMMs, and laboratory gaging to determine conformance to customer requirements. Must take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.
What You'll Do:
Maintain the inspection lab environment to the lab standards.
Perform routine in-process inspections.
Perform verification layouts for equipment adjustments, initial submissions, or offsets that require timely feedback to production.
Execute layouts on internal functional gages where the Gage Technician needs CMM driven dimensional data.
Alert Quality and Production personnel when confronted with non-conforming product and tag as appropriate in order to contain such non-conforming material per company standards.
Must be able to create CMM programs using Zeiss (Calypso 5.4) and Brown & Sharpe (PC-DMIS 3.206) software.
Competent in using standard machining inspection gages and CMM operation.
Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T drawings.
Ability to multitask and make good decisions in a busy environment. Ability to work overtime as needed and have a flexible schedule at times to accommodate 3 shifts of work.
Ability to work as a team with little supervision.
Must maintain a good attendance record.
Assist with various other assignments as needed.

What We Need from You:
One year certificate from college or technical school in quality inspection; or three to six months related experience and/or training of CMM programming; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
