The Credit Reporting Dispute Support Specialist is a full-time remote position. The agent is responsible for performing work related to indirect & direct credit reporting dispute processing, complaint investigation, goodwill requests and basic helpdesk tickets from internal users. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST; however, additional hours may be required from time to time depending on the business’s needs. Job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Investigate, analyze, and respond to indirect credit reporting disputes (e-OSCAR) according to internal policy and procedures and CDIA Metro 2 guidelines.
  • Update reporting of consumer account information in e-OSCAR using the AUD process.
  • Provide friendly and helpful level 1 support to internal users via Service Now ticketing system. Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Assist branch team members with retrieving credit reports for application processing.
  • When necessary, contact credit bureaus to resolve complex credit reporting issues.
  • Support team member in resolving escalated issues, questions, and complaints to ensure prompt resolution time.
  • Assist Legal & Compliance Department with direct dispute investigation by providing credit report documentation and account details.
  • Works effectively as part of team atmosphere to perform duties and achieve operational goals.
  • Perform additional duties as needed within the department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, College degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of Credit Bureau or related consumer financial experience required.
  • Knowledge of FCRA requirements and CDIA Metro 2 guidelines.
  • Experience with tools such as e-Oscar, Sonnet by Palinode, Allied Business System (ABS), Salesforce and Service Now.
  • Ability to make sound, independent judgments within established guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability.
  • Willingness to learn new things.
  • Ability to multi task and handle stressful situations.
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to organize own work, set priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and independent worker who takes initiative to complete assigned tasks and projects.
  • Ability and desire to work with others in a cooperative, positive, and constructive manner.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Communicate with all levels of management.
  • Work successfully with a wide variety of individuals.
