Job Summary

Under the direction of the Product Category Manager - Identification Systems, the Technical Product Specialist will assist with product development, market research and product launches for identification systems. By becoming familiar with HellermannTyton' s industrial labeling solutions - including materials, applications, and equipment - the Technical Product Specialist will support the sales and marketing of the identification product line with end users, and our channel. The position's unique interface with the customers and sales channel should provide valuable insight into applications needs and product capabilities. Duties will include interacting with customers, manufacturing, and external suppliers with the goal of streamlining development, service, and support of products that meet the market needs in the identification of wires and industrial systems. A smaller portion of the job includes providing technical support for the HellermannTyton software and printer systems, which represents up to 25% of the daily workload, and is consistent with becoming a product line expert.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage continuous improvement of new identification customer outreach and development.
  • Provide superior technical support to the sales organization and customers for labels, software, and printer systems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in managing the development and creation of technical support videos, step by step educational tools, training manuals and documentation and web-based learning modules.
  • Travel as needed to support sales and distribution in the field for training and technical demonstrations.

Other Functions:

  • Define and implement process improvements to the operation.
  • Identify new product line recommendations and contribute to product launches.
  • Manage specific key product lines as assigned, some may be outside of the area of Identification.
  • Develop and maintain competitive cross reference lists.
  • Utilize Windchill and HT ERP system to create and manage Item Master Load sheets and other product data.
  • Analyze product sales using Halo.
  • Assist with developing marketing literature, presentations, website content.
  • Work with the team supporting all areas of electrical sales growth.

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in business or MIS with experience on computers and printer hardware.
  • Windows 7/Vista/XP, Server 2008 or higher
  • Needs to understand Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure configuration and administration.
  • Experience setting up network programs and printer drivers.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
