Mental Health Worker

Montare Behavioral Health is currently looking for Mental Health Workers for our San Fernando Valley locations in Encino, Tarzana and Woodland HillsThis position is responsible for providing direct service to clients, and for facilitating the smooth day-to-day operation of the program. This position collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary team (Treatment Team) to deliver effective treatment.AVAILABILITY: We are currently looking for the followingFull Time, 4 and 5 days work weeks.PM, NOC ShiftsEncino / Tarzana / Woodland HillsMust be available weekends and holidaysEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with intakes, orient the clients to the facility and ensure they understand the rules of the program.Conduct rounds, room checks, safety checks on a scheduled basisAdminister drug and alcohol screenings on clients as neededAssist clients in self administration of prescribed medication as neededMaintain appropriate boundaries with clients at all timesEnforce and monitor cell phone usage, curfews, visitation hours, resident chore scheduleAttend offsite activities such as meetings, gym, doctor appointments, etc.Ensure clients attend all scheduled groups and therapy sessions as scheduledPrepare and facilitate groups as assigned and lead clients in organized activitiesReview treatment plan goals with clients regularly and support clients in accessing community resourcesProvide effective crisis intervention as needed and teach independent living skills effectivelyComplete all charts, program documentation, medication management, shift/crossover reports, incident reports and other forms and reports according to company policiesEnsure the facility is clean, safe and in compliance at all timesComplete at least 20 hours of continuing education per yearOther duties as assigned by the leadership teamQualificationsAt least 18 years of age.High School graduate or possess a GED. Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work preferred.Experience working with in Mental Health preferred.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and writtenValid driver's license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance.Pre-Employment RequirementsHiring is contingent upon completion of a background check, TB test, and clearance on a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Clean driving record and current first aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire. Additional requirements include receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption and a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508).
