Position Overview

The Financial Analyst is an existing role within Kimball Electronics Tampa. This position reports to the Controller for Kimball Electronics Tampa (KETA). This position is responsible for supporting the accuracy of financial statements for KETA, month end closing process, internal controls structure and providing accurate data for management decision making.

Quick Summary

This role is “hands on” and is responsible to drive profitability through innovative performance measures and to enhance decision making through proactive and relevant financial information. The financial analyst supports the controller in providing Corporate Accounting with timely and accurate financial information that supports external reporting requirements. This position must be flexible in meeting the changing needs of the accounting team and be both a “big picture thinker” and “deep-dive” in order to understand the impact of the duties being performed to the business units other related processes.

Basic Background Requirements

This position will require:

The ability to work with all levels of the organization. A bachelor’s degree (typically accounting or finance) or equivalent work experience. Helpful, but not required are an MBA, CMA, or APICS (manufacturing) certifications. Experience in Microsoft Office

Key Performance Objectives

Short Term: (0 to 2 months)

Learn and perform month end processes required for accurate financial statements Learn and understand Kimball Electronics culture (external candidates) Understand the KETA production facility in order to provide accurate financial data Learn and perform the customer profitability calculation on a monthly basis Obtain general understanding of Kimball Electronics inventory analysis

Midterm: (3 to 6 months)

Prepare and distribute necessary business reports (daily/weekly/monthly) Work with the inventory processes Work with the standard cost system Understand the quote process as well as the customer profitability process and how both relate to the decision support data provided to management

Longer Term:

Learn and understand the manufacturing variances such as PPV, Scrap, Overhead, etc.

Learn the forecasting process.

Provide variance analysis.

Proactively provide recommendations for customer cost down opportunities Effectively cross train with other Financial Analyst team members

Program

Respond to audit inquiries in a timely manner

Support Operations such as Program Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, etc.

Decision Support focused ad-hoc projects.
