Position Summary

The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial operations of Seminole Gaming, focusing on delivering comprehensive financial, operational, and technical analyses. This position is designed to support management in achieving strategic business objectives and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
  • Execute bank reconciliations and perform detailed account analyses.
  • Analyze departmental performance, identifying variances from budgeted figures.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on financial statement reviews and analytical reports.
  • Assist in training new financial analysts to ensure a knowledgeable team.
  • Support the Financial Accounting Manager in maintaining the General Ledger system and related reports.
  • Coordinate business and financial planning, including both short-term and long-term forecasting.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring service level agreements.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, developing trend analyses based on historical and current data.
  • Communicate financial and operational results effectively to management.
  • Prepare monthly executive financial reports to meet organizational requirements.
  • Develop financial and operational metrics to aid management in strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial analysis tools for assessing growth, investment, or liquidation options.
  • Compile financial and operational statements, assisting in presentations as needed.
  • Ensure departmental goals and performance metrics are clearly understood and met by management.
  • Provide support for centralized functions related to the business enterprise.
  • Audit and assess existing systems and processes, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to exceeding expectations in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Two to four years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the casino hotel industry.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Access; SQL and Stratten Warren/MMS experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of hotel and casino operations as they relate to accounting practices and internal controls.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and time management skills.

Work Environment

  • This role is primarily office-based, with occasional requirements to be present on the casino floor, which may involve exposure to environmental factors typical of a casino setting.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with specific vision requirements.

Preference in hiring is given to members of the Seminole Tribe and other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet job qualifications.
