Cost Engineering Manager SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Cost Engineering Manager, the Estimator will estimate costs and prepare price quotes for product applications required by customers using various calculators and systems already in place, along with preparing spreadsheets to aid in costing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares accurate quotes for new and existing products Creates cost models in ERP system and in Excel Organizes all sales inputs and quote documentation to ensure files are available for project completion Audits estimated cost versus actual cost of completed projects Identifies cost reduction opportunities Assesses manufacturability and makes recommendations to Sales Recognizes tool and fixture requirements and creates estimates accordingly Communicates with Sales and Engineering teams to balance quote load and priority QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required. Associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred. Technical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, welding, and powder coat application. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications Experience with Microsoft Excel is required Ability to navigate 2D and 3D CAD, preferably Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Must possess effective written, verbal, and oral communication skills Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and the desire for challenges Exceptional interpersonal skills Willingness to take on non-traditional tasks, roles, responsibilities, and challenges needed to accomplish company goals Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
