Job Summary:

The Brand Marketing Manager, Multicultural & Community develops and drives comprehensive marketing strategies and programs to meet organizational objectives and generate awareness and interest in the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. The Brand Marketing Manager, Multicultural & Community works closely with the cross-functional Brand team, People & Culture, Suns Charities, and Partnerships to develop brand and multicultural goals and leads all aspects of the implementation of plans and measures the impact. The Brand Marketing Manager, Multicultural & Community oversees the Marketing Coordinator and reports to the Sr. Director of Brand Strategy and Activation.

We are seeking an expert and highly motivated Brand Marketing Manager, Multicultural & Community to assist team members with developing comprehensive marketing strategies, plans, and programs across general, multicultural and community audiences including LGBTQ+, Native American, Women, LatinX, AAPI, & African American communities.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops comprehensive marketing strategies, plans, and programs across general, multicultural and community audiences including LGBTQ+, Native American, Women, LatinX, AAPI, & African American communities.
  • Creates and is responsible for project timelines for deliverables, budgets, and distribution of creative materials for review, approval, and trafficking.
  • Responsible for brand management and the oversight and review of digital, TV, print, social and in- game promotions and advertising sponsorships
  • Works closely with corporate sponsorships to craft and implement strategic programs and theme nights that align partner goals with multicultural audiences.
  • Works cross functionally with Diversity Equity & Inclusion team & multicultural ERG groups to align internal DEI initiatives with external facing multicultural marketing plans.
  • Leads social responsibility and community initiatives that make a positive impact in marginalized communities through program curation and execution.
  • Leads cross-functional meetings to align on marketing initiatives by setting a clear agenda and expectations, encouraging participation, and recapping next steps.
  • Coordinate trade media relationships with Spanish language media outlets and development of Spanish language media assets including but not limited to TV Spots, Radio Spots, and print ads.
  • Write script and copy for various marketing needs.
  • Source and conduct outreach to relevant multicultural influencers in alignment with campaign objectives.
  • Develop multicultural merchandise opportunities that drive revenue amongst diverse audiences.
  • Produce various video and photoshoots to meet brand needs.
  • Leads all aspects of operational management of marketing budget and expense tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)
What We Need from Our Brand Marketing Manager, Multicultural & Community:
  • Proficient leadership and management abilities with a track record of building strong preforming teams.
  • Proficiency in marketing concepts with the ability to develop and implement effective processes and strategies.
  • Expert collaboration skills, facilitating effective communication and teamwork.
  • Proficient problem-solving and creative thinking skills to address challenges and drive innovation.
  • Proficient multi-tasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expertise in project management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Expertise in reading, writing, and speaking English, with strong communication skills.
Experience/ Education Requirements:
  • Marketing, Communications, or closely related bachelor's degree.
  • 4-5 years of experience developing strategic marketing plans.
  • 3- years' experience working in sports or entertainment entity or marketing agency.
  • 3 years' experience in DEI and/or multicultural marketing initiatives
What You Can Expect:

The Brand Marketing Manager, Multicultural & Community oversees the Marketing Coordinator in driving multi-channel marketing and promotional plans to engage fans in addition to the operational needs of the marketing department including the trafficking of multi-channel media across paid and owned channels and budget bookkeeping. This role will also support community initiatives and act as a liaison to the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury Foundation for their in-market activations.
