THE ROLE

As a Staff Accountant at Kempower, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the ever-evolving EV market. On a typical day, you'll be helping and preparing for end of month close activities, helping with AR functions, and reviewing contracts with cross-functional teams, making a direct impact on our mission to revolutionize transportation.

In this role you will

  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile and review various accounts with the accounting specialist.
  • Assist financial controller with Revenue Recognition duties following ASC 606.
    • This includes reviewing contracts and preparing Excel worksheets for review.
  • Assist in AR duties.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial performance.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
  • Assist VP of Finance with insurance management.
  • Sales and Use tax reporting and analysis.
  • Various financial platform assistance.
WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
