Primoris Industrial & Civil is actively seeking a Project Cost Engineer for our project location in Abilene, TX. The role involves coordinating, overseeing, and leading the estimation processes to guarantee cost-effectiveness and project alignment with both client expectations and organizational standards. Proficiency in Primavera P6 is advantageous. Per diem eligibility is contingent upon meeting specific requirements. The project is anticipated to extend until mid-2025.Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:Assists the Project Controls Manager in ensuring the establishment and consistent application of project cost and earned value best practices according to PSC established proceduresAssures that the project cost system(s) is functioning as required to provide the project team with accurate and timely dataTracks, analyzes, & reports cost/schedule informationAssists project team in resolution of issues involving cost, schedule, & changesProvides cost information in support of the project's Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimateEnsure required resources and effective processes are in place to execute the project control plansApply/follow effective changes management processes to ensure capital disciplineLead forecasting/reporting of cost/schedule performance throughout project life cycleSupport common methods & standard reporting format for reportsConduct post project audits to collect actual data versus estimated data for the purpose of making adjustments to estimating assumptions and processesEnsure that relevant cost management procedures and reporting requirements are incorporated where appropriate on contractor's scope of servicesReport project cost to management as well as analyzing cost and schedule variances and recommending corrective actionsProficiency in cost engineering principles and methods including budgeting and forecasting, change management systems/ procedures, work breakdown structures, earned value systems, contingency allocationEnsure that at project conclusion, all cost related items are properly closed outQualifications:Bachelor s degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.Minimum 5 years functional experience in the areas of cost control, scheduling, estimating, construction project controls in the ConstructionMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skillsPrimavera P6 experience is a plusAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionKnowledge of risk management and analysisExcellent oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teamsExcellent computer skills, particularly with SAP and Microsoft ExcelBenefits:Paid PTOPaid Company HolidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, FSA/HSA, Short Term/Long Term Disability, 401K with matching contributionStock purchase planCOMPANY OVERVIEWPrimoris was formed in 2004 as the parent company and is traded on the NYSE under the symbol PRIM.
