As a Sales Manager, you will be joining a smart and driven team working to address the climate crisis and economic inequality.

New Sun Road is a high growth start up. Our projects are diverse and impactful; our customers build digital literacy centers in the highlands of Guatemala, power remote communities in fire-prone areas of California and provide mobile renewable energy emergency services during natural disasters. Our unique software platform uses IoT technology and AI algorithms to reduce operating costs and increase control and visibility.

The Sales Manager position is key to the New Sun Roads growth and development. As a product expert, you will represent New Sun Road and promote our products globally both in person and virtually. The Sales Manager will identify and propose solutions for our customers and close sales collaborating closely with our product management team. You will progress our sales operations as we grow to improve efficiency and ensure the highest customer satisfaction. The Sales Manager will also provide key market insights as the voice of the customer identifying pain points and new product opportunities.

*Core Responsibilities*

* With the customer facing team, establish and manage a defined pipeline of sales targets and goals

* Generate leads, build new relationships for long term growth, and close sales

* Demonstrate New Sun Road products and target specific market segments

* Generate solutions-based proposals in collaboration with Product Management

* Provide voice-of-the-customer input, competitive analysis and market insights

* Work with marketing to develop messaging and materials for target markets

* Help advance sales operations to ensure the best customer experience

* Maintain and contribute to CRM and customer support tools

* Attend and exhibit at trade shows and technical conferences

* Provide input to the executive team on company strategy and business development

* Identify and close sales opportunities in current market segments: telecom, equipment manufacturers and energy access and explore areas of expansion including grid modernization and carbon markets

*Qualifications, Skills and Experience*

* Proven track record in closing deals and growing revenue

* Foundational sales knowledge, understanding each step to go from lead to loyal customer.

* Excellent communications skills - written, verbally and virtually - being able to actively listen, lead a multistakeholder meeting and identify solution paths.

* Preparation and attention to detail - internally and externally

* Technical background or experience in energy systems, telecommunications, IoT, software, or a combination.

* Familiarity with common communications protocols and microgrid system elements

* Understanding of energy markets, grid modernization concepts and DERs

* Experience working with complex technical partnerships and diverse business coalitions - enterprise, nonprofits, government, and NGOs

* Familiarity with CRM, ERP and common office software platforms

* 5 to 7 years professional experience

* A willingness to learn about the market, our customers and new technologies

* Self-motivated, with a problem solving, growth mindset

* Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
