Position Summary The SaaS team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to help define and coordinate testing efforts within Neptune’s commercial software offerings. Neptune’s platform is composed of services that manage our customer’s operations by enabling end users for access to IOT data, specifically Neptune’s world class water meters.

The Software Testing Specialist will define and coordinate testing efforts within Neptune’s commercial software offerings. Author and execute test cases, using defined methodologies for manual and/or automated tests. Isolate, reproduce and track bugs and verify fixes. Document test results and assist in the continuous improvement and modification of software. Develop solutions that scale, and this position will be in the driver seat and work through any challenges and solve problems. Responsibilities Participates in Sprint Planning, Estimation, and Retrospective meetings to review project progress and act accordingly Remains involved in preparing and reviewing estimates and project plan as required Plays vital role during project planning by providing QA estimates and detailing tasks involved across each step in Neptune’s Product Development testing processes Identifies the testing techniques and testing types required to effectively fulfill Neptune’s Product Owner defined requirements Remains actively involved in designing, leading, and reviewing Neptune’s ongoing Product Development Test Plan and Test Strategy based on requirements Creates and reviews of test cases and test scripts to effectively meet Neptune’s Product Development Test Plan and Test Strategy, creating test data for all required test scenarios Remains involved in writing complex SQL queries to verify data from source to target throughout the development process Remains involved in test environment setup and gaining access to required tools through coordinating with Developers and Administrative teams Executes extensive test cases to capture, analyze, and develop action plans based on test results and software needs Tracks and monitors all testing activities of the Product Development Team Performs defect tracking using JIRA and status reporting by proper documentation Works with Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to analyze and develop solutions to test defects Holds responsibility over production validation after every software release and modification Maintains overall industry knowledge on latest testing trends and technology Provides technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to business owners Lead and mentor colleagues or subordinate team members. Experience 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer (functional, integration, regression, performance, and scalability testing) for distributed systems. Experience with testing and using REST APIs Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments Demonstrates ability to back decisions with research and the “why”. Articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation A ‘can-do’ attitude to meet challenges; energized by change and thriving in team-based work Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills and ability to establish good working relationship with a wide range of people Project and time management skills, with the ability to manage completing priorities Experience working in a diverse team and accomplishing goals with cross team collaboration Experience working in the public clouds is a plus but not required Education A Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field. A lack of degree can be supported by an accomplished career in testing software systems at scale. Location:
