This position will be based in Wytheville, Virginia, and will require travel to job sites within an approximate radius of 3 hours of the office. A background in heavy civil construction. The Crane Operator role is a full-time position earning a competitive wage. CRANE OPERATOR SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the operation of cranes used in a heavy civil construction environment.Will assist team leaders and signal persons with pre-pick planning and coordination.Responsible for assuring that all lifting gear has been inspected before the start of any lifting operations. These inspections include, but are not limited to slings, cables, straps, and the crane.Will be responsible for rigger's compliance within company policy, safety guidelines and procedures that pertain to that crane operator's job.Assure that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged.QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CRANE OPERATOREducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Must be CCO/NCCCO certified. Required Skills/Abilities:Must be able to safely and accurately operate a crane.Experience operating cranes in a heavy construction environment a plus.Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.Must pass drug screening and background check.
