De La Pena Eye Group, a Covenant Physician Partner, is looking for a Fulltime Patient Services Specialist to join our busy and growing team in Los Angeles, CA.Please note the pay range for this position is $18-$22/hr.About the OpportunityWorking Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, you have the opportunity to join a multi-site, multispecialty, state of the art group of providers that was founded in 1984. Over the past four decades DLP Eye Clinic has treated more than 400,000 patientsRotating weekends to support other locations, minimum 1 Saturday per month.Travel to other De La Pena Eye Clinic sites may be required, although infrequent, throughout the greater Los Angeles area.A patient's first impression is made long before they walk through our doors and are greeted face to face. You are the first voice they will hear over the phone when they call to schedule or prepare for their appointment. With every conversation, you have the opportunity to make a patient feel welcome, valued and cared for.With clear communication, careful listening and complete documentation, you give each patient security that they are important to our practice. You make the patient experience excellent, one phone call at a timeWe are seeking Patient Service Specialists who are caring and kind, with strong communication, documentation and time management skills.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCheerful and polite communication on all phone calls.Quick response to each incoming phone call.Accurately obtaining and entering all required patient information.Kindly assisting each caller with their needs, directing to appropriate recipients.Expertly scheduling appointments for optimal patient experience with each visit.About the CandidateBilingual English/Spanish required.High school diploma, GED or equivalent.One (1) or more years of experience in a customer service setting, which could include a work study program, externship programs, and similar work history.Demonstrated proficiency with computers, multi-line phones, and other office equipment. Assertive and attentive customer service at all times.Willingness and aptitude to learn quickly.Strong communication and documentation skills.Attention to detail.Ability to learn, retain and follow specific instructions, applying to various circumstances.Ability to multitask and mange time well in a fast-paced environment.Emotional intelligence, ability to read situations and determine course of action in the moment.Ophthalmology experience is strongly preferred.Experience with EMR.
