Overview:

Ortho Molecular Products is seeking a diligent, attentive, and motivated individual to join our team The part-time, hourly position, is located at our corporate office in Barrington, IL. This is a 12-week internship, ending in August.

In this role, you will be exposed to many areas of the accounting cycle with emphasis in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, sales tax, and financial accounting. As the Accounting Intern, you will have daily responsibilities and participate in key projects that will aid in departmental growth.

What to Expect:

  • Shadow members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties.
  • Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Learn how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or customers.
  • Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about financial accounting.

What You Will Contribute:

  • Actively working towards a Bachelors in Accounting (Junior/Senior standing preferred), with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Fundamental knowledge of standard Accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
  • Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.

  • This is a paid intern opportunity, running from May/June through August. This internship will be located on-site in our Barrington, IL office.
