ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district. THE POSITION Under general supervision of the County Manager this position will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the activities of the assessment, appraisal, mapping, and tax collection functions for Clatsop County as prescribed by Oregon’s revised statute. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or closely related field AND (6) years of experience in performing residential through commercial property appraisals, at least two of which must include supervisory responsibilities OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Registration in the State of Oregon as a certified appraiser. Must be bondable. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience performing farm, forest, and industrial appraisals. Working knowledge of applicable Oregon and Federal laws and regulations. Demonstrated understanding and application of principles and best practices of appraisal processes.
