The Systems Effectors: Processing, Guidance & Control Center is responsible for algorithm development including Guidance, Navigation, and Control; radio frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO-IR) Signal Processing (SP); and missile-and-sensor-level Modeling and Simulation for Raytheon's broad portfolio of projects, programs, and products. In the Signal Processing department, we design, integrate, and optimize sensor control, detection processing, tracking, and classification algorithms to meet mission objectives. We support new business initiatives and help develop & execute technology roadmaps.
The Signal Processing Department is seeking a Senior Signal Processing Engineer to perform in the role of Signal Processing Team Lead on a Land & Air Defense Systems program.
This position is located at our Tucson, AZ location. This position is an onsite role.
What You Will Do
- You will lead the Signal Processing Team, which is responsible for performance prediction, analysis, and integration of multiple RF devices across multiple products. This team supports, and is supported by, other cross-disciplinary specialist teams within the program.
- You will develop and execute testing and evaluation of devices in multiple settings and will be responsible for deconfliction and management of test resources as required to balance and meet multiple program and customer priorities.
- You will help the program identify manpower needs, and help the program onboard and train new engineers, while maintaining efficient and effective execution.
- You will interface and coordinate with program leadership (including Chief Engineers, Program Managers, and Cross-functional Team Leads) as well as functional leadership.
- You will function as the Product Owner in an agile engineering environment and be responsible for refining and grooming the SP sprint backlog and aligning the SP Team's efforts with program priorities.
- You will travel 10% to customer, supplier, and other locations in support of briefings, field tests, and any other program needs.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of Signal Processing experience.
- Experience in RF Signal Processing algorithm development and analysis.
- Experience in RF Signal Processing laboratory testing and measurements.
- Experience programming in C/C++, Python, and/or MATLAB.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience evaluating SP algorithm and/or model performance for Land & Air Defense Systems.
- Experience supporting missile / captive flight test execution and analysis.
- Experience leading a small development team in an Agile environment.
- Experience developing and presenting technical briefings.
- Experience in supplier / subcontractor / vendor engineering management.
- Experience supporting software and performance activities leading to flight test such as Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS) and Computer-in-the Loop (CIL) performance analysis, ensuring compliance to performance metrics prior to software release.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
