Mechanical Design Engineer – Full Vehicle

The Mechanical Design Engineer position will be responsible for the design and verification of components, as well as vehicle designs for new product development. This includes creative conceptual design, selection of materials, selection of manufacturing techniques, and clear and thorough documentation of the design.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Designing mechanical components and subsystems, including using CAD.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering teams to define design requirements and ensure the design meets those requirements.
  • Providing technical feedback to other engineering design teams.
  • Identifying deficiencies in mechanical designs and proactively making improvements.
  • Planning for manufacturing and assembly of components and subsystems.
  • Documenting work using modern tools and techniques, and writing well-written, thoughtful technical reports.
  • Working with engineering analysis teams to support performing analyses, which can include thermal, stress, fatigue, tolerance, safety, manufacturability, and cost.

What we need for the Mechanical Design Engineer position

  • Bachelors degree or higher in mechanical engineering or other engineering discipline
  • Experience designing mechanical systems and products
  • Experience in design for manufacturing
  • Strong proficiency in a CAD software
  • Experience with engineering simulation software, such as ANSYS
  • Experience level: Intermediate (3-5 yrs) or Experienced (5-10 yrs)
