Senior R&D Engineer Opportunity

Primary Talent Partners is seeking a highly skilled Senior R&D Engineer to join a multinational medical device company in Santa Ana, CA. This is a 2-year contract position with the possibility of conversion.

Job Summary

As a Senior Engineer within our SH&A Operating Unit, you will be at the forefront of innovation in Structural Heart and Aortic. You will design, develop, and analyze heart valves and heart valve delivery systems using Engineering First Principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and provide technical skills during research and/or product development.
  • Design studies to investigate specific life science questions within your field of expertise.
  • Translate research discoveries into usable and marketable products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of post-graduation industry experience.
  • 3+ years of Heart Valve/Class III Medical Device Experience.
  • Familiarity with various materials, including metals, polymers, sutures, and tissues.
  • Investigation and root cause analysis skills.
  • Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science First Principal.
  • Strong expertise in heart valve testing, including PIV, AWT, Migration, DFM, and Hydro testing.
  • Technical writing knowledge.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with corrosion and wear mechanisms.
  • Practical knowledge of project management.
  • Proficiency in materials testing, analysis, and interpretation of results.
  • Strong understanding of engineering materials properties and structure-property relationships.
