Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our company by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. General Ledger Accounting: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets. Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting principles. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and review invoices, expense reports, and payment requests for accuracy and compliance. Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and aging analysis. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to support decision-making. Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations. Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis to support management in strategic planning and decision-making. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance and trends. Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Support the implementation of new accounting systems, processes, and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or working towards CPA certification is a plus. 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in property management or real estate industry. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, MRI) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
