**Preferred locations - Lakewood , Newark or Lodi, NJ area with the ability to travel regionally throughout the Northeast United States. This role will act as a funnel for sales activity into these showroom locations for American Van Equipment, a Safe Fleet brand.**

**?The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) is responsible for the retention and growth of direct sales, small to medium fleet business, and OEM franchise dealers in key market areas. The TSM captures revenue growth, enhanced profitability and increased customer loyalty and satisfaction for their assigned geographic sales territory with focus on fueling those markets key to the SAAS location.**

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Cultivate sales opportunities and effectively manage small to medium fleets to generate profitable growth at the American Van Equipment SAAS locations

* Cultivate sales opportunities to generate profitable growth at the OEM franchise dealer level

* Develop comprehensive knowledge of the competitive landscape, including product offerings, locations, marketing messages, service, etc. to identify new prospective customers as well as maintaining current customers

* Prospects and develops new customers, including cold calling, conducting client introductions, and face to face client meetings

* Support territory sales budget development

* Meets or exceeds revenue and gross profit expectations

* Ability to gain familiarity with competitor products and pricing and presents a differentiating sales argument

* Proactively analyzes customer needs and issues, utilizing problem-solving techniques to drive continuous improvement and communicates needs to appropriate staff

* When necessary, work with engineering and operations to verify capacity, lead-time, and other production requirements and/or timelines

* Processes orders and related transactions via Safe Fleet ERP system in a timely manner

* Other duties as assigned

**Education and Experience:**

* Bachelor's Degree preferred

* Minimum 3-5 years of outside sales experience and/or automotive dealership experience

* Field Sales experience in the industry is a plus

* Experience working in Microsoft Office required; NetSuite preferred

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**

* Must possess excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills

* Strong negotiating skills with the ability to effectively turnaround objections and work around business obstacles

* Familiarity with the Commercial Vehicle market segment preferred

* Ability to learn and retain product specific information to advise customers on product selections and requirements

* Strong self-motivation to drive results

**Additional Requirements:**

* Must reside within assigned region

* Frequent travel, could exceed 50%, to showrooms, customers, and prospects is required

As a leader within the organization, it is expected that the Territory Sales Manager will set the example to their peers / subordinates and be accountable to ensure a consistent brand image for their team.
