Coordinator - Human Resources

The Mendocino County Office of Education is a public agency whose primary purpose is to provide educational leadership, resources and services to schools to ensure wide-ranging educational opportunities for all students. This mission is accomplished through cooperative efforts with teachers, school districts, families, and communities; through direct instructional programs and administrative services; and through coordination with the California Department of Education and other agencies.
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director - Human Resources, perform a wide variety of complex and highly responsible management and administrative duties; relieve the Director of complex, routine administrative, and technical details; analyze and anticipate needs, including coordination of new employee set-up in ESCAPE; prepare and/or monitor changes in State and Federal laws and related documents; provide policy updates; and perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, or related field of study preferred;
•Associate of Arts Degree or advanced degree in management, office administration, or a related field and/or experience in the field of public education are desirable;
•A minimum of three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources at a management or supervisory level, preferably within a school district or county office environment;
•Experience of a similar nature in private industry may be substituted;
•Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver License;
•Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting twenty-five (25) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance.

BENEFITS
Employees are provided with an insurance plan, which includes health, vision, and dental insurance for employee, spouse, and dependents, at a shared cost. Participation in this plan is mandatory for employees working 35 plus hours a week. Employee will be a member of the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) to which both the employee and MCOE contribute. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
