Job Overview

The Senior Manager in Property Accounting is responsible for the accounting and administration associated with financial terms of contractual lease and operating agreements.

Responsibilities include ensuring timely and accurate posting of monthly close transactions, preparation of expense plans, forecasting, payment remittance and balance sheet reconciliations as prepared by direct reports.

ASC 842 Lease Accounting experience is required.

What You Will Do

• Ensure team prepares and processes monthly accruals, amortization and expense entries associated lease administration and accounting.

Review and approve entries as needed. • Review monthly ROF’s and analyze variance explanations for accuracy and completeness. • Review payments processed and vendor record maintenance.

Review billings for compliance with contract terms and correspond with appropriate landlord entities. • Independently review annual and revised fall plans for assigned areas of responsibility.

Analyze and document variance explanations for prior year/original fall comparison.

Prepare 2-3 year business plans for expense and balance sheet accounts. • Manage, lead and develop direct reports to achieve departmental and company goals.

Enhance professional development of staff through training, coaching and counseling • Understand, interpret, and implement Lease Accounting Standard ASC 842.

Ensure adherence to process controls.

Maintain documentation related to accounting treatment.

Review and analyze associated reporting. • Partner with internal and external contacts to complete ad hoc requests. • Maintain Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality

Skills You Will Need

Knowledge of ASC842 Accounting:

ASC 842 Lease Accounting and Lease Administration experience is required.

Forecasting and Variance Analysis:

Skill in preparing monthly forecasts (ROF’s) and analyzing variances to identify discrepancies and provide explanations for deviations from expected outcomes.

Supervisory and Leadership Skills:

Strong leadership abilities to supervise and guide direct reports, promoting knowledge sharing and skill enhancement within the department.

Communication:

Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate new procedures, resolve problems, and maintain open and continuous communication with all stakeholders.

Technical Proficiency:

Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Access, and Oracle software for data analysis, reporting, and financial management tasks

Creativity and Strategic Thinking:

Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically to optimize processes and solve complex issues effectively.
