Job Overview

We are looking for an individual with experience performing Manual Layout Inspection on intricate stamped metal and injected plastic components parts that go into Hubbell Assemblies.

A Day In The Life
  • These inspections are for new component approval or tooling modification approval. Some of these tools are multi-cavity. The ability to read Engineering Drawings, interpreting Engineering requirements and attention to detail is required. Also, Strong GD&T skills are desirable in a candidate.
  • The individual must also be able to work with other Quality Assurance Technicians in the department to schedule/coordinate the allocation of inspection/test equipment to perform the First Article Inspection.

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or related field preferred, with 5 years of applicablework experience in QA orTrade School or equivalent with minimum 10 years applicablework experience in QA inspection
  • The Individual must be able to perform complex set-ups for inspections using manual and optical instruments. The individual is expected to be proficient with using Micro-Hite/Cadillac Height Gages, Last Word Indicators (Tenths), Micrometers(Tenths), Gage Blocks, Dial Indicators and Optical Comparators. Also, the ability to run a Gantry Style CMM(Miro-Vu) to perform these inspections is a plus.
  • Sectioning of the submitted parts may be required and understanding how to allocate the submitted samples is critical.
  • The Individual will need to be proficient at recording measurement results in Excel, Word or Minitab. Knowledge of using CMM & CAD software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Measurement Software such as Keyence, Polyworks, Geomagic, AutoCAD or Solidworks would be helpful.
  • It is very desirable for the individual to be able to import/export 3D model files, assemble CMM fixturing, construct new probes/stylus if needed. Then run the CMM programs and store the results.
