The SMM will coordinate the day-to-day flow and moderation of social content across relevant channels, participate in the social content creation process, and dynamically react to changes within the social media space to meet traffic, engagement, conversion, revenue, and other brand goals. The SMM will work closely with our Sr. Brand Marketing Director, social media content team, brand creative team, and digital marketing team to assure an aligned and impactful social media presence for Backcountry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

Develop,execute, and otherwise ownacross-channelsocialmediastrategyforBackcountry.Backcountry’s social media channels include Instagram, Facebook,TikTok, X, Pinterest,Threadsand YouTube.

Partner with Backcountry’ssocialmediacontentteamandbrandcreativeteamtocreate content that resonates withBackcountry’s target customer(outdoor enthusiasts).

Collaborate withan array ofcross functional stakeholdersat Backcountry (e.g.owned brands team,customer serviceaka Gearheads, HR)toensurethe brandand its manyfacetscometo life through social media.

Work with the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing to establish KPI’s by which to measure theongoingefficacyof the social media strategyin line with larger brand and business goals.

Work closely with thedigital marketing /paid social team to ensureconsistent brand communication in boththe organicand paidchannels.

Research, evaluate,recommendand implement (as approved) necessary toolsto supportand administerBackcountry’ssocial channels.

Evaluate new social platforms and partnership opportunities and makeappropriaterecommendationsbased onBackcountry’sbrand strategy andinitiatives.

The positioninvolvesworking outside normal office hoursfrom time to timeto coordinate live content.

QUALIFCATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Strong(proven)social media skills, including at leastthree (3) years’ experiencein a socialmedia basedrole;essentialunderstanding ofbrand communications / public relations.

Detail-oriented, organized, andableto communicate effectivelywith an array of cross functional colleagues and teams.

Basic understanding of content licensing (e.g.music, imagery).

Well versed in composing and designing social media posts to meet brand standards and engagement best practices.

Experienced planner and manager of social media calendarin syncwith larger company calendars and timelines.

Experience creating andsubmittingcreativebriefs.

Passionate about the outdoors

Outgoing & confident presence on screen, in front of audiences, and in larger groups of coworkers

Project management experience, includingworkingwith project management software

Can understand and interpret social media analytics.

Has budget management experience.

Adeptwith Microsoft Office Suite (Sharepoint), Instagram, Facebook,Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, and social media management platforms.#LI-SE1 #BHP
