Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized HR Coordinator to join our team on a PART-TIME basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, with a focus on employee relations, training, and compliance, specifically in the context of commercial drivers. This position is ON-SITE.

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations:

    • Handle employee inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
    • Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Training and Development:

    • Coordinate employee training initiatives, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Recruitment:

    • Assist the HR Manager in the recruiting process, including interviewing, on-boarding and processing of new hires.
  • Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including those specific to commercial drivers.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices.
    • Maintain compliance records for commercial drivers, including medical examinations, drug testing, and licensing.
  • Benefits Administration:

    • Manage relationships with benefit providers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims and payments.
    • Stay informed about changes in benefit plans and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in HR, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HR best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of commercial driver regulations and compliance requirements.
